The last couple of days were a bit of everything. It was fun with the girls but I had some hard times as well. You see, I am no good in big new groups and I am possibly the biggest introvert alive and here you're surrounded by people literally 24/7. I share a room with two other girls which means that I don't really have a moment for myself unless I am in the shower, kind off, unless someone has to pee so that I have to hurry and get out. But I think I have adjusted rather well. So, here's what happened the past few days.

On Monday, the first day I was here we had to make a stable ready at 10PM for a foal that came in. His mom had died when giving birth, a lady asked us to take care of him so we did. He came in with no name so we thought of one with the lady who told us about him, Wilde (Pronounced in English) became his name. I couldn't write about this the day it happened because there are some things that are not meant for the world yet. This is also the reason why I will write about some things later on.

On Tuesday there was a barbecue planned as some sort of "thank you for all the hard work" for the girls. The weather the past few weeks was really bad but the hay bales still had to be dragged onto the land for the horses. No matter how much mud they had to plow through. I can only say that I have respect for these girls because I am tired after dragging a bale over the land when it's dry, I can not imagine how bad it must have been when you're ankle deep in mud. The barbecue was fun, good food because hey, we're in Spain and there is no such thing as bad food here. Except for the bread, it's the kind of bread that stays good until the day you die. I heard there was a river nearby the place where we went for the barbecue and decided to do a little adventuring. I was burning alive in the sun while everyone was in a nice fun circle in the sun so I sat alone and smiled because well, I guess I was an Edward girl after all. I stumbled on a nice little place where the river ran over some rocks so the dashing water was pretty loud. It was good to have a peaceful little cocoon with no one around. The next day we went to Sevilla because there was a big festival where horses were parading and there was a big fair. Everyone was in traditional clothing, women in dresses and men in suits. Before we went there, I tried to give Wilde a bottle, he matched with the mare we tried with him and he is now drinking her milk as well. He still has to be bottle fed to make sure that he get's enough. Those two get along really well and the mare is getting protective over Wilde as well.

Yesterday was my first full day of work and I didn't mind it. I was on water duty which basically means that I have to make sure that all water barrels and buckets were filled. It gave me the chance to look around and get to know the horses. There are a couple you have to look out for but once you know that it's pretty good. I never thought I would be working with stallions but god they're beautiful. I took some pictures for this blog to show you guys what we are working with here.

Today I chose a horse I could take care of for the remaining of my stay, that means giving her some extra love, taking care of her fur and giving him a bath every once in a while. Her name is Torda and she has a really bad back. She is extremely thin but we're working on that. Every horse that needs more fat gets a mixture of beet pulp, muesli, and bix. Besides, that does every horse get staw and hay.

I really do respect the work they're doing here, it is so hard mentally and physically. It are such wonderful people.
